The Mysterialist

No drama, just tired of it, for a lot of reasons—most of them obvious and common to others, a couple peculiar to me and my goals (such as they are) as a writer. Not deleting any of my old Tumblrs or this one but will no longer update them either. The link above goes to my Wordpress blog, which will be my only active site aside from G+ and Twitter for the foreseeable future.

UFO in Greenpoint Brooklyn- August 6, 2011 (by CBags23)

A video of Tim Heidecker’s UFO experience. If you’re familiar with Heidecker’s (Tim & Eric fame) voice you can easily pick it out.

The end of the video, the big reveal, is perfect.

Tests have been conducted on the substance on the surface of the water in Kivalina (KIV’-uh-LEE’-nuh). City Administrator Janet Mitchell told The Associated Press that the substance has also shown up in some residents’ rain buckets.
First Concert?

Oy.

A Christian rock band called Fireworks near the end of the summer of 1981, with a slightly older girl named Jennifer Churchwell, at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

Second date ever, too, and still just about one of the weirdest.

Strange anomaly was found during a sonar UFO or stonehenge standing on the bottom ? (by dempaboda via Gizmodo)

This is about as viral as a story like this can get. I gotta admit it’s interesting, at the very least.

Holy crap, this actually seems pretty credible: “Lost city of Atlantis believed found off Spain.” Quote from the article:

Freund’s discovery in central Spain of a strange series of “memorial cities,” built in Atlantis’ image by its refugees after the city’s likely destruction by a tsunami, gave researchers added proof and confidence, he said.
Atlantean residents who did not die in the tsunami fled inland and built new cities there, he added.

If you’d asked me to pick a bit of esoterica, unsolved history that might one day be found to have a solid basis in fact, I doubt I would have answered “Atlantis.”

A giant underwater “dead zone” in the Chesapeake Bay is growing at an alarming rate because of unusually high nutrient pollution levels this year, according to Virginia and Maryland officials. They said the expanding area of oxygen-starved water is on track to become the bay’s largest ever.

WE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!

No, but this is bad though.

As weird and funny a Twitter account as you’ll see today. Emphasis on weird.

Noctilucent clouds can form only under very restrictive conditions. They are the highest clouds in our atmosphere, located in that layer known as the mesosphere at altitudes between 47 to 53 miles (76 to 85 kilometers). They are normally too faint to be seen, and are visible only when illuminated by sunlight from below the horizon while the lower layers of the atmosphere are in the Earth’s shadow.

I’ve only seen these once, that I can recall. I’d love to see them again.

Amy Ahonen was last seen on July 8, the day before her 38th birthday.

Ahonen put an ad on Craigslist in February and March looking for a roommate, according to her close friend Kacey Wilkins.

Missing Woman Got ‘Creeped Out’ By Roomate Ad Responses - Denver News Story - KMGH Denver

Craigslist weirdness is becoming so commonplace. I could totally believe some weirdo targeted this missing woman via that kind of ad.
